Been sorting through so many photos from our storied sojourn to Ireland in the week we’ve been home. There are moments I cannot believe how gorgeous some of the shots are… we happened upon some sort of miracle-like “Indian Summer” while there. In lieu of a proper post and because I simply cannot choose where to start (!) here are a few of my favorite places, through the app, Waterlogue. I can now paint with my camera…
Inis Oírr, pronounced Inisheer, is one of the three Aran Islands. With a population of around 300, a day exploring the island is both peaceful and restorative. Surrounded by the astonishing vistas of The Cliffs of Moher and rocky Connemara, find a comfortable spot on a clear day and breathe in the beauty.
Meet Ginger! This darling kitty blessed us by taking a perch on this tree stump on the fairy-like grounds of the Burren Perfumery. But not before making sure to dip his paw in the leftover creamers from afternoon tea in the garden!
Down south to County Kerry we go… and all the way down to the most westerly tip of the Dingle Peninsula. On a near-cloudless day behold The Great Blasket Island or An Blascaod Mór. Its rugged terrain and locale forced its remaining residents to evacuate for the mainland in 1953.
In the morning light, the butterflies flock to the bright amethyst asters along the paths of Kilmokea House in County Wexford. If one is lucky enough to stay here, the garden nooks and hidden recesses will welcome you. Along with a number of spiders of course!
Even in the center of the city of Dublin, Ireland’s many shades of green greet and ensconce you. With memorials to some of Ireland’s most talented writers, victims of the Great Famine and fallen war heroes, St. Stephen’s Green is a place for reflection and rest.
